What Goes into Building a Custom Home?

When our client’s initially meet with JP Malone Construction the word’s, “Dream Home” immediately come to mind. Whether it’s building your home from the ground up or remodeling your existing home, our client’s needs are always based on the individual. This begs the question, “What really goes into building a custom home?”
Every Client has a unique vision of what will make them happy in their new home’s design. Is this space for entertaining? Is this a second home to escape the winter months from the Midwest?
We visit every lot with our Construction and Design team. What views can JPM capitalize from your lot? What makes the most sense for your family? The utilization of every square foot is key, especially if the size of the lot is limited. Most of our client’s have a clear idea of what size their home needs to be for day to day life or for entertaining out of town guests.
Finishes can be customized down to the hardware. When options are truly endless, our award-winning design team helps our client’s pull every item together.
Our interior design division furnishes these homes with the same attention to detail. Our designers go room by room and pre-select each item to get a general idea of what styles / selections fit our client. We have access to custom draperies, bedding, and upholstery pieces. JPM ensures that your home is as unique in the architecture as it is with every furnishing piece.

I totally agree when you said that each client has their own ideas and desires when it comes to making their dream house come alive. As for me, I would love it to have modern features while looking like a house from Spain. I hope I can find a contractor that can help me make this possible since I really love the looks of it, but we need to make sure that we have proper heating for it since the location we chose is quite a cold place.

You made a great point when you said that every client has a unique vision when it comes to building a custom home. Working with seasoned home builders is the best option in order to bring that vision to life. I didn't know that custom homes go down to every detail, even to custom hardware. I would love to some day have a custom home where everything is just the way i like it. I think that it would be such a fun process, choosing all the design styles that would go into the home.

I like how you mention that finishes can be changed to fit the hardware in a custom home. My husband and I have been to a lot of houses where we love some of the houses but a few things stand out to us that would be bothersome to replace like the finishes. I think we should build a custom home with everything fit to our liking, including the finishes.

I appreciate that you pointed out that every client has their own unique idea when it comes to building their dream custom home. Because of that, it makes sense for clients to want to work with experienced home builders as they will know the best options in bringing that idea to life. My wife and I have been dreaming of building our own home and I do believe the best step is hiring the right, knowledgable and experienced home builder.

It makes sense to hire a contractor who is experienced or at least understand what we want in a house. My parents are building a family home on their property. I will advise them to share their ideas with prospective contractors and judge from there on who can materialize their vision.

You make an excellent point that we needed to be decisive with the size of our home when we plan on having it custom built. Because my friend is an avid host, I assume she would need to have a big house built. After reading this post, I will recommend my friend to build a house that is comfortable enough to accommodate a party.

I want to get a building made, but I'm not sure how to go about it. It makes sense that I would want to get the right plans made for it! That way, I can ensure that it's built in a way that will keep it sturdy.

I love how all the finishes in a custom home can be changed to your liking down to the hardware. That is the kind of home my fiance and I want. Maybe we can find a builder that can help us out now, we'd have to postpone our wedding for sure though.

I am glad to see that you can customize your house down to the hardware. My wife wants certain appliances in our kitchen. So this would allow her to get exactly what she wants while I get what I want too.

My neighbor mentioned that he is looking to have a custom home built for his retirement in 20 years. I do agree that when looking for a contractor, it is important to choose someone experienced and who has a strong portfolio. I will definitely keep this information in mind when I look for a contractor to ensure that he chooses someone reliable and trustworthy as well as skilled.

My cousin mentioned to me last night that he is planning to have his own custom home and asked if I have any idea what is the best option to do when designing his home layout from scratch. This is really helpful since my husband and I are planning to build a two-story house for our growing family. I guess we should look for a professional home builder on Monday who can help us build our dream house with a jacuzzi within eight months.
